I'm completing the Data Security → Control Access to Objects Trailhead challenge.
I created:
- Permission Set: Manage Positions
- Permission Set Group: Recruiters
- Added the permission set to the group.
However, my org does not contain the required Recruiting objects:
- Position
- Candidate
- Job Application
- Review
I verified:
- Object Manager → Position = no results
- Permission Set → Object Settings = no Position object
- Installed Packages contains only Salesforce Connected Apps and Trailhead Playground
The challenge fails with:
"We can't find that the 'Manage Positions' permission set grants read, create, and edit object permissions for Position."
Is this a known provisioning issue with the current Trailhead Playground, or is there a required package that must be installed?

The Position, Candidate, Job Application, and Review objects are part of the Recruiting app/data used by this Trailhead challenge. They aren't standard Salesforce objects, so they won't be available in a regular Trailhead Playground unless the required Recruiting content has been provisioned.
Since you've already confirmed that the objects are completely missing from Object Manager and Object Settings, this looks more like an org/provisioning issue than a permission-set configuration issue.
Please make sure you're using the Playground specifically created/connected for this module and not a regular Playground.
If the Recruiting objects are still missing in the correct Trailhead Playground, please provide the Trailhead module/project name and the Playground details, or create a case with Salesforce Support if the issue persists so they can check the provisioning of the required objects.
