Mailchimp Integration Retrieves No Records on Query

After installing and configuring Mailchimp for Salesforce, I created a test query filtering to find just my test contact. No results were retrieved, regardless of whether I queried for contacts on the email field or for campaign members on the campaign.

This ended up being a very simple solution (only uncovered after uninstalling, reinstalling, and relabeling the Email field): My test contact had the Email Opt Out field selected (we had relabeled this to Email Operational Opt Out). Once I deselected that option, the contact was retrieved in my query.

    Another piece of information:

We are migrating from an old CRM to SF. In the old CRM, we have contacts who are subscribed to our mailing list. We send mass emails directly from that CRM, so contacts who are subscribed there and who had subscribed in Mailchimp unsubscribed in Mailchimp. As a result, I am testing to see what happens when we sync from SF to MC when someone who is unsubscribed in MC is subscribed in SF and is part of the campaign.

Mailchimp support told me that contacts who are unsubscribed in MC but are subscribed in SF would be resubscribed upon sync.

However, when I change the email address of my test contact who has an unsubscribe status in Mailchimp, they show up in the MC4SF query results. If I change the email address back again, they are omitted once more. If I send the test contact a confirmation email from MC and they resubscribe, they still do not show up in the query results using the previously unsubscribed email address.
