Issue: When I want to create a new contact in an account related list button (or from the Contacts List). I only see the fields (including required ones like Name and email) if I pick one or the Contact Record Types. Otherwise, those fields are not shown (as a consequence I can't save them).

Why the 'New' button of a related list shows fields depending on the record type and how to change it?

Question: Where can I change the Assignment/visibility/page layout for this, so I have at least the required fields at creation time?

Things I have checked

  1. I am the Admin, so I do not have field permissions issues. I can see the fields of the Contacts (so it's not a Contact field visibility issue).
  2. The buttons on the related list Properties look like thisAcct_Related_List_Button.png
  3. There are no overrides for the New Contact Button on the Contact objectNew_Contact_button.png
  4. This is how the layout for the Global Action for New Contact Looks likeNew_Contact_Global_Action.png

The Fields displayed in the New Contact (button) are determined by the Contact Record Type / Page Layout Assignment settings on the Contact Object.

(Global) Quick-Actions are independent of Record Type / Page Layout Assignments.  They don't override the standard "New Contact" button, they are "their own thing"
