Question on calendar privacy in Salesforce. I have Outlook integration set up. Org Wide Default is set to "Hide Events" for Calendar.
Why can my users above a user on the role hierarchy see the header & details of calendar events? Users below users on the role hierarchy cannot however. Given the OWD, shouldn't all calendar details be hidden for everyone? Since when did role hierarchy open up access?
Role Hierarchy and Sharing Rules override OWD. I don't recall that ever not being the case provided Grant Access is set to true.
Something else to note from the link above is:
"If your organization disables the Grant Access Using Hierarchies option, activities that are associated with a custom object are still visible to users above the activity’s assignee in the role hierarchy."
