Mysteriously, my mobile Salesforce Maps app logged me out on my phone.  I can still get into Salesforce using my phone.  The mobile Maps app prompts me to verify my identity but clicking that option does not do anything.  I also cannot generate a temporary verification code from "users" in SF settings.  I have re-set my password and that did not work.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Phone support is non-existent with Salesforce so far.

    Hey David,

Key thing to clarify first: are you a System Admin in this org, or a regular user? "Temporary Verification Code" only shows up on a user's detail page and can only be generated by an admin, for that user, not for yourself. If you're trying to generate it on your own user record while logged in as yourself, that's likely why it's not working, self-service generation isn't how it's designed.

    What to do:

    - If you have another System Admin in the org (even a colleague), ask them to go to Setup > Users > click on your name > click Generate next to "Temporary Verification Code." That gives you a one-time code valid 1-24 hours to log back in and re-register your device

    - If you're the only admin and you're fully locked out (can't get into Setup either), that's the scenario where you genuinely need a support case, self-recovery isn't possible without another admin or Setup access

Since you said you can still log into Salesforce itself from your phone, just not Maps, try this: log into Salesforce mobile app first (not Maps), go to Setup > Users > your own record, and check if Temporary Verification Code is available there. If Setup access is restricted on mobile, try from a desktop browser instead, that page sometimes behaves differently on mobile browsers.

If none of that works, this becomes a legitimate case for Salesforce Support, MFA/device lockouts with no other admin available are one of the few things that genuinely needs their intervention since it involves account security controls.
