Subject: Data 360 Calculated Insight Shows “No Data Model Nodes”

Issue Description

I am facing an issue while creating a Calculated Insight in Salesforce Data 360.

When I open the Calculated Insight configuration and try to select or add the required data model nodes, the system displays “No Data Model Nodes”. Because of this, I am unable to select the required Data Model Objects (DMOs) and continue configuring the Calculated Insight.

Expected Behavior

When creating a Calculated Insight, the available Data Model Objects/Data Model Nodes should be displayed so that I can select the required objects and configure the Calculated Insight.

Actual Behavior

The Calculated Insight configuration shows:

“No Data Model Nodes”

No Data Model Nodes/objects are available for selection, preventing me from proceeding with the Calculated Insight configuration.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to the Salesforce org.
  2. Navigate to Data 360 / Data Cloud.
  3. Navigate to Calculated Insights.
  4. Create a new Calculated Insight.
  5. Open the Calculated Insight configuration.
  6. Attempt to select/add a Data Model Node.
  7. The system displays “No Data Model Nodes” and no Data Model Objects are available.

Impact

I am unable to create or configure the required Calculated Insight because the required Data Model Nodes are not available in the Calculated Insight builder.

Request

Please investigate why the Data Model Nodes are not being displayed in the Calculated Insight builder.

Please confirm whether this is related to:

  • Data Model Object availability or configuration
  • Data Stream/Data Mapping configuration
  • Data 360 permissions or user access
  • Data Model Node eligibility for Calculated Insights
  • Data 360 setup or synchronization
  • A Salesforce platform/product issue

Please provide the recommended steps to make the required Data Model Nodes available in the Calculated Insight builder.

Evidence

I can provide screenshots of the Calculated Insight page showing the “No Data Model Nodes”

message, along with the relevant Data 360 configuration and Data Model Object details.

    Hi,

This module has you spin up your own custom Data Cloud org via trial signup, not a pre-built Trailhead playground. That signup provisions Data Cloud licensing/entitlements separately, and it can take longer to fully activate than a standard playground — if your whole class signed up around the same time, a provisioning delay or partial entitlement issue hitting many of you together would look exactly like what you're describing.

Best next step: recreate a fresh Data Cloud trial org from scratch rather than fixing the current one.

    - Wait a few hours (not just 30–60 min) after the trial org is created before starting the Calculated Insight steps — license/feature enablement on a fresh trial can lag longer than a standard playground

    - Confirm under Setup that Data Cloud shows fully enabled/active before moving to Data Streams

If a fresh org hits the same issue right away, that points to a signup/provisioning problem this week specifically — worth reporting via Trailhead Help with the trial signup date/time so they can check the provisioning queue.
