Hello awesome admins,

My org is NPSP enterprise edition, no Duplicate Jobs as an option.

I ran a report on duplicate sets on contacts and found many duplicate sets are no longer duplicate, some previous staff may have merged them. So when I click on those duplicate sets, the detail only shows one record.

The duplicate set report return a total of 20,000+ records (we only have 100,000 contacts) and now I am lost sight of which are currently duplicate records, which are old merged records. I ran the report again and include the Contact ID and try to use that to determine which are currently duplicates. I will test whether that will work out correctly.

My question is, after I merge the duplicate contacts, seems the duplicate record sets, and duplicate record item remain and pollute the future report. Any way to delete these old duplicate record set and item in a mass? If they remain, then every time we run the report, the number of record accumulates. The report is useless at the moment, when the duplicate sets is 20% of the total number contacts, use excel formula maybe more efficient.

Thank you in advance for any input.

As Charles noted, Salesforce doesn’t let you filter on Record Count in a report-- but that’s only true if the REPORT is doing the record counting.  There is another way.

The Report Type you use for your duplicates report will include both the DuplicateRecordItem object and the DuplicateRecordSet object.  The DuplicateRecordSet object has a field called “Record Count” representing the number of related DuplicateRecordItem records (and SF updates this automatcially!). So in your report, add a filter to only show records where that “Record Count” field is greater than 1.

Hey guys,

A great idea if your org is experiencing duplication issues in Pardot because of the Allow Multiple Prospects with the Same Email (AMPSEA) feature: https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=0873A000000E6zpQAC
