While creating the permission set I am not getting the object in my org on which I have to give access in that permission set. I am using my playground org do I have to create an object first ?

Yes — the object has to exist before it'll show up in the permission set's object settings.
If it's a custom object the challenge expects, go create it first (with its fields), then come back to the permission set and the object will appear in the list. Also double check the exact API name matches what the challenge instructions specify - this is a usual reason for errors in trailhead challenges.
