Design For User Success: Think About Text

You know what your #Salesforce pages have a lot of? TEXT, whether it’s in labels, field values, or section headers. Pay attention to that text–it’s part of the design of your org.

Love it! I especailly love the in-line help. I use rich text elements but they are so bulky. And they lack merge capacility. So much smarter to build an error message or explanation message that has customized field merge informaiton in it. It can still be conditional if you want.

I suspect the only place I'll be using Rich Text in the future will be on our little "What's new and hints" information at the bottom of every page. Users like incremental changes that are intuitive, but they do like to know they aren't crazy and that it did change. Plus new users and users doing something for the first time on a page find the hints really helpful.

Thanks, Michael. I can't wait to implement some of these advisory read-only formula fields as soon as I have a good enough reason!
