When attempting to add the tags style, head, meta, etc lightning email template in the Email Template builder I get the error "element style is not allowed or has an invalid attribute" I have read this idea and checked out these release notes @Reena Parekh can you provide any insights?

Lightning Email Templates don't support arbitrary HTML tags such as <style>, <head>, and <meta> in the template builder, which is why you're seeing the “element style is not allowed or has an invalid attribute” error.
If you need more advanced/custom CSS formatting, you'll need to work within the HTML and styling options supported by Lightning Email Templates, or consider using an alternative approach such as Visualforce Email Templates where appropriate.
The Idea you referenced is also the best place to track Salesforce's future plans for broader CSS/HTML support.
