Hey all you #AwesomeAdmins (particularly, if you started as an #AccidentalAdmin

), I'm working on a blog post and I want to know what your "aha moment" was, where you stopped fighting with Salesforce and started realizing how cool it really is.

Mine is a pretty dumb story. The PatronManager Client Support team asked me if they wanted me to have them "create a workflow" for me. In my mind, "create a workflow" meant coming up with a set of steps that my staff would do every day. I didn't realize or know just how much automation Salesforce could bring. I thought they were being quite intrusive, saying they could write workflows for my staff! Then I learned that a Workflow was a real thing. I learned that my life was going to be a LOT better from then on out.

It's been over 9 years - so many!! First 'ah ha' moment really was when I got logged in to our very first instance back in March 2006 and I was clicking around and the whole 'App' thing made sense. I kept flipping back and forth between 'Sales' and 'Marketing' and couldn't figure out what was different about the 'Contacts' tab between them.

But seriously - I think my 'ah ha' moment was when I started feeling really comfortable with DemandTools within a few months of going live. I used it on a near daily basis to manually sync up GetActive (may she rest in peace) with Salesforce.
