Hello - question/issue with wait times in Journey Builder. Per JB "If the calculated date is in the past, contacts proceed to the next activity" - but that doesn't seem to be happening.

We have an Event Registration Series (Journey Builder) made up of four parts:

1) Confirmation

2) Reminder #1 (wait - 4 Days before Event)

3) Reminder #2 (wait - 1 Day before the Event)

4) Survey (wait - 1 Day after the Event)

While generally, this works pretty well, I noticed that if someone registers within four days of the event, they are still getting Reminder #1 - which they shouldn't because that time has passed. Instead, it seems Journey Builder is not respecting the "4 days" and is instead playing catch-up and sending the next email in the Journey (i.e. Reminder #1) on the next available send day (even if it's a day before the event).

What I would like to happen is the following (assume event is on 6/18 and I register on 6/16)

1) Confirmation

2) Reminder #1 (don't send - because I registered within the 4 day period - meaning I "missed" this one)

3) Reminder #2 (send as scheduled)

4) Survey (send as scheduled)

Thoughts?

@Jim Harper Try using contact data and add the data extension in data designer. Because Journey data is a snapshot, it will only tell the EventDate based on the contact's journey entry.
