Adapt and Thrive - look to your Intrapreneurs

Please join us on June 11th at 10am BST, 11am CET, 7pm AEST, 5am EDT for a session on the New World of Work and to ideate about how we #adaptandthrive, #buildbackbetter, and think about what next.

Register here to sign up for the session and many others.

I'm really thrilled to be joined by Justin DeKoszmovsky (Archipel&Co) and William Sim (Salesforce Trailhead) to help facilitate this working session as part of an amazing line up at Global Intrapreneur Week, a celebration of the innovators who create change from within.

COVID 19 has shone a bright light on each of us acting in support of others first (vs. the task or self), has forced us to change the way we go about our daily work, and exposed inequalities in our society. This session will be a facilitated workshop to co-create a number of scenarios for how we can take the changes we have had to make through necessity, towards a new normal of work for all. We'll look into the roles for the Intrapreneurs who have already identified as change makers and how the new normal can encourage everyone to be an Intrapreneur. We'll focus on how do we make changes sustainable and how do we accelerate work on the issues that have been exposed as we move from Stabilise (mitigating short-term risks and stabilising operations) to Reopen (planning and orchestrating return to the workplace) to Grow (accelerating change to grow the next normal)? Imagine... if we could activate the potential of everyone.

Justin, William, and I will start the session with a few of the questions, experiences, and thoughts that have been coming to us about this and then we'll split into four working groups to co-create around four themes on to look at how we #buildbackbetter:

  • Faster decision making for good - Organisations have made decisions faster and more focused on our health and wellbeing. How do we continue that agility and focus as we move from Stabilise to Reopen to Grow?
  • Bringing our whole selves to work - Working from home has brought our homes into the lives of our colleagues at work and for many, enabled by necessity, meant more of our authentic selves. How do we continue that authenticity as we move from Stabilise to Reopen to Grow?
  • Connecting digitally & humanely - Digital technologies have long promised to change our lives and through COVID-19 they have become the critical connector for most of us. These technologies have broken down walls and opened us up to more accessible encounters. However, not everyone has the access nor the skills they need to take advantage. How do we continue to deliver that promise of digital connection, but make the opportunity available for all, as we move from Stabilise to Reopen to Grow?
  • Our work - more distributed, more local - With work happening at home, we are all travelling less, avoiding built up areas, and reducing our environmental impact. This is resulting in quieter surroundings, clearer skies, and more appreciation of our local economy. How do we continue the development of the local community, distribute our supply chains, and reduce our environmental impact as we move from Stabilise to Reopen to Grow?

I hope this provides a real opportunity to consider, for yourself and your organisation, what some really practical actions will be. As Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is quoted: "Whatever you put attention on will start manifesting in your life. Intention, attention, manifestation; that is how the universe works."

See you on the 11th June!

Stuart
