It's the Friday before a long weekend (at least for the US & UK!), so let's take a moment to share a #Friday Shout Out!

#Friday Shout Out to @Julia Whitehead and @Tracey Morris who hosted our first "Ask the Community" on Thursday -- what was formerly EMEA Office Hours! You both are SO helpful and have such an approachable tone to how you address and answer questions, you really made the session feel welcoming and allowed folks to ask their questions in a safe environment. These sessions will now be hosted every Third Thursday of the month (in BST timezone), so anyone in @Ireland and United Kingdom or anyone who can make 10 am BST on the Third Thursday of the month, keep an eye on @EMEA Nonprofit Ask Me Anything group for future sessions! Thank you again, you two!

Quick side note -- I know there are a LOT of different programs and new names. HERE is a new glossary of all the different programs so you can review what is what, hope that's helpful! Glossary of Community Events and Programs.

#Friday Shout Out to @Whitney George and the Edu Trailhead team who released a NEW Higher Ed specific trail on Trailhead this week! If you haven't seen it yet --> Enroll Best-Fit Students with Education Cloud and shows your new badges!

#Friday Shout Out to @Alastair Dutton who synced with me about the nonprofit community in Edinburgh. For those who don't know -- I'm based in London now & am trying to connect with you all who are here in Europe. If you want to connect, I want to learn more about what you're working on, what you need from us/from the community... let's connect!

p.s. in case you missed it, check out the keynote speaker announcement (Trevor Noah!) for @Education Summit 2021. Keep an eye on this group for more fun updates coming soon :)

If you haven't already, I recommend you follow the #COVID-19 Comms topic and follow "Every Post" for all the updates. I share a weekly recap of COVID-19 related-resources (check out #COVID-19 Weekly Recap ) if you want to get highlights for the coming week.

Anyone else have any other #Friday Shout Out to give? Let's pay it forward and share the love!

Our organization (lke everybody else during covid-19) is doing everything via conference video and we need to track the data from different conferencing platforms/sources. How can these different sources be captured in Salesforce to create a dashboard that highlights kpi's accross our online activities?

It's Monday (I know, I'm doing a #Friday Shout Out on a Monday!)😱 -- our team was off on Friday and I really disconnected. It's hard these days to unplug and focus on mindfulness and really step away from email and work tasks... so thank you all for your patience😊. Now, let's kick this week off with sharing some love and giving some shout outs!

#Friday Shout Out to @Paul Ginsberg who I was able to connect with last week on helping grow the nonprofit community over here in Europe. As some of you may know, I recently moved to London (early March, great timing, right!?) and Paul gave me some tips and feedback on programs and just general insight on building community over here in Europe/EMEA. I SO appreciate when I can connect with folks from our community 1:1, and it's something I want to do more of! If anyone ever wants to chat 1:1, please DM me or email me lizzy.roberts@salesforce.com. Otherwise, the Friday Coffee chats that @Anne Young hosts each Friday are also a great chance to connect with the Salesforce.org community team in a casual setting, join the Google Hangout Link here (meet.google.com/yst-drzw-amx) and it's also listed in the Community-curated list of virtual events.

#Friday Shout Out to @Ryan Ozimek who was featured on the Admin Podcast last week as a part of the "Salesforce for Good" series -- thanks for all that you do to support this community 🙂 Check out the recording HERE!

#Friday Shout Out (on a Monday) to all of our teachers and educators, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week last week! I know teachers and folks in the @Sector: Higher Education world are going through a lot of changes and adjustments these days, so thank you for continuing to do what you do!

#Friday Shout Out (on a Monday) to all of our mothers, moms and/or anyone who celebrates Mother's Day (which in the US was on Sunday, May 10).

If anyone has any stories or photos they want to share from Teacher's Appreciate Week or Mother's day, or anything else, please share, I'd love to see what everyone got up to last week 🙂

If you haven't already, I recommend you follow the #COVID-19 Comms  topic and follow "Every Post" for all the updates. I share a weekly recap of COVID-19 related-resources (check out #COVID-19 Weekly Recap) if you want to get highlights for the coming week.

#Friday Shout Out to @Joanna Iturbe and @Mike Page for their amazing support during the Higher Ed "Innovating Together" webinar and Ask Me Anything this week, focused on @Education Summit 2021. You are amazing advocates for the Higher Ed Community - and are also just awesome people, thanks for everything you do!

#Friday Shout Out to everyone who asked great questions during the Nonprofit Cloud AMA yesterday - to review what questions were asked, you can view the conversation here @Nonprofit Cloud Ask Me Anything Archive - the next AMA with David Ragones (SVP, Nonprofit Cloud) will likely be in August, so keep an eye out for that next one!

There were a lot of announcements this week!

  • Make sure to check out @David Ragones Product Update HERE
  • Program Management Module Update (thanks @Meg Gray) HERE
  • New Recruiting & Admissions Workbook (thanks @Natalie Vaynberg & @Megan Day!), see HERE

Anyone dealing with the SBA PPP loan application and/or the EIDL?

I'd love to hear what other #Salesforce Consultants and small businesses in this space have done on this. I think I've managed to put in applications for both as an independent/solo LLC. But I'm certainly not confident that I did it right...

I expect many organizations have applied, too.

Oh no! But are any of us surprised big companies are getting big bucks — then trying to change the rules to leave their people in the lurch? So frustrating.

It's Friday! I don't know about you, but this week flew by! I know a lot of you may be out today and/or Monday for the holiday weekend - if you are, enjoy your time away (from your computer)! Alright, now let's take our weekly pause - personally, I'm imagining a virtual deep breath from one of @Ashima Saigal's mindfulness sessions! - and let's take a moment to share the love, highlight wins and join together for support! It’s time for a #Friday Shout Out

#Friday Shout Out to @Marisa Lopez and @Amplify for creating the Circles of Support sessions, "small group of 5 - 7 Amplify members who communicate regularly through remote meetings and other channels (such as Slack) and find ways to build trust and support one another personally and professionally through this challenging time. Think of this as a circle of new friends to connect with on a regular basis. You are not alone!" I just love this, thanks so much for starting these off, Amplify team!

#Friday Shout Out (again!) to @Melissa Hill Dees and @Akash Mishra for organizing virtual social hours for the community to connect throughout the week -- these are great because they are a way for folks to connect casually, and also range in timezone, so folks from all over the world can join!

  • Tuesdays (weekly) - Virtual Social Connect, hosted by @Akash Mishra
    • Timezone: 9:30 pm IST
  • Thursdays (weekly) - Nonprofit Virtual Social Hour, hosted by @Melissa Hill Dees
    • Timezone: 11:00 am CDT
  • Fridays (weekly) - Virtual Coffee Chat, hosted by @Anne Young and the Salesforce.org community team!
    • Timezone: 8:00 am PT
  • You can find links to join all virtual social gatherings in this Quip doc (which also lives in the @Nonprofit and Education MindShare group details, for reference!)

Also #Friday Shout Out to all the Community Group Leaders who are transitioning their meetings to virtual gatherings! I saw that @Matthew Poe is hosting a virtual community group gathering in NYC soon, congrats on leading the way! Anyone else been to or will soon be joining a virtual community group session? Give your leaders a shoutout!

Thanks also to everyone who continues to share their COVID-19-related resources, webinars, virtual events here in the Hub.

If you haven't already, I recommend you follow the #COVID-19 Comms topic and follow "Every Post" for all the updates. I share a weekly recap of COVID-19 related-resources (HERE) if you want to get highlights for the coming week.

I handle the donations for my chorus. Our last concert of the season has been cancelled due to COVID19. Some patrons are kindly donating the cost of the tickets back to our nonprofit (which is great). How should I track these donations. What if the checks for the tickets were received in 2019?

thanks,

Kathryn MacLaury
