Divyesh Chauhan ha fatto una domanda in #Salesforce Developer

I have renamed the Call Log activity label to Visit based on a client requirement.

The requirement is that all activities that are currently created as Call Log should be displayed as Visit throughout the Salesforce UI.

The activity itself is showing as Visit, but in the Activity Timeline, Salesforce still displays the system-generated text:

The client wants it to display:

I have already changed the Call Log name to Visit, but the Activity Timeline still uses the standard "logged a call" text.

Question:

Is there any standard Salesforce configuration or supported customization to change the Activity Timeline text from

"logged a call" to "logged a visit" while continuing to use the standard Call Log/Task functionality?

If this is not possible through standard configuration, is there any recommended approach using Flow, Apex, LWC, or another Salesforce customization?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

    Hi Divyesh,

    No,

Salesforce standard configuration does not allow changing "logged a call" to "logged a visit"

    in the Activity Timeline.

Renaming Log a Call → Visit changes the action label, but Salesforce still identifies the activity internally as a Call, so the timeline shows "logged a call."

    1.  Flow/Apex cannot change this standard timeline text.
    2.  If the wording is not mandatory, keep the standard functionality and use a custom field like Activity Type = Visit.
    3.  If the client strictly needs "logged a visit," the recommended solution is a custom LWC Activity Timeline/component where you can control the displayed text.

      Thank you.
