Hi,

We are in the process of cleaning up some Pardot/SF data and it prompted some questions. We have stayed on top of cleaning up hard bounces after each of our email sends. But for some reason when we pulled a report of bounces, the list includes 1000+ contacts. Is there a way that we can see these undeliverable contacts and the reason for the undeliverability? Basically we want to be able to see/pull a report of everyone that has this error on their email. Is this possible?

    Thanks. I tried that but there's so data available. Says "There are no results for this area". Is there anywhere else that might show these results?

Hi! My org recently updated our Pardot-Wistia connector to the new version of the connector which creates external activities for every video. This new version of the connector breaks the native scoring features Pardot used to have for video played/watched 75%+. Anyone out there design a solution for scoring with this new connector? We have dozens of videos and creating automation rules specific to the name of each video seems inefficient but the only option with external activities - I haven't worked with external activities much and the documentation seems to point towards needing to work with Apex and the API to accomplish anything with them?

Has anyone successfully validated a subdomain? Salesforce documentation says both a CNAME and TXT record validation are required. However when attempting to add these, we see that both can NOT exist on the same subdomain.

    @Candice San Juan

    Hi Candice,

    The TXT record should be added as a root domain record ("@" record), while the CNAME should be an alias of go.pardot.com. See the working attached screenshot.Hi Candice, The TXT record should be added as a root domain record (

    Hope this helps 😎

Hello Team,

We are experiencing an issue in our Pardot environment where bot clicks are automatically clicking links in our email templates. This is impacting our click-through rates, engagement metrics, and Engagement Studio reporting.

As a result, we are unable to accurately measure genuine recipient engagement.

Could you please investigate this issue and advise on any available solutions or settings to help identify and filter bot-generated clicks?

We would appreciate your assistance as soon as possible.

Thank you.

    Hello Jithendra, you’re right to keep bringing this up, as we’re seeing the same issue on our instance, which is completely altering the KPIs. It’s a good idea of François’s to open a support ticket; I’d be interested to hear how it turns out if you could let us know.

Could someone assist on finding what this button is used for "Send to Account Engagement (Managed)", it's on the contact details page.

    Hi Vishnu,

    The button is the Account Engagement equivalent of the legacy “Send to Pardot” action. It’s used to manually push/sync a Lead or Contact into Account Engagement (Prospect creation/association depending on connector settings) rather than waiting for the normal connector sync. Salesforce’s  implementation guide still describe this functionality under the older “Send to Pardot” name.

    Hope this helps 😎

I am trying to extract HTML content from multiple Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) email templates in bulk.

I reviewed the Pardot Email Template API documentation, but it appears there are limitations when retrieving HTML-related fields through the GET endpoints. My goal is to avoid manually opening each template and copying the HTML content one by one.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Is there a supported way to retrieve the HTML content for multiple email templates in a single process (bulk extraction)?
  2. Which API endpoint or approach is recommended for extracting HTML content from multiple templates at once?
  3. Are there any alternative APIs, exports, Salesforce objects, or reporting methods that provide access to the full HTML content?
  4. If the Email Template API has limitations on HTML fields, what is the best practice for exporting this data into Excel or CSV format for reporting and analysis?
  5. Has anyone implemented an automated solution to extract HTML from all Pardot email templates without making individual requests for each template?

I am looking for the most efficient and scalable approach to export HTML content from a large number of Pardot email templates rather than manually copying each template's HTML.    @* MC Account Engagement (fka Pardot) *

    The MCAE v5 API is best for "classic" email templates.  For lightning email templates, you'll want to use regular old Salesforce Query API and specify the fields you want. Best way to see what you want is to navigate to an email template, look at the URL for the object name and the Id. Use that with some queries to see if you can get what you need.

I'm considering an engagement studio but taking up one of our recurring enrollment engagement studios also seems inefficient. Wish this feature could have been preserved in the new integration!

    @Alexaya Learner,

    Flow could be a good starting point, but I’d keep it simple initially.

    If External Activities are available as a triggerable object in your org, you could try a record triggered Flow and handle the scoring logic there instead of going straight into Apex.

    If that option isn’t available or doesn’t give enough control, then you might need to look at an Apex based approach or another automation layer, but I’d only go there if Flow really can’t support the requirement.

    So I’d start with Flow where possible, and then decide based on what level of control you actually get from the External Activity data.

We use MCAE and want to be able to report on Contacts who have received, opened, or clicked our emails, and details from their Contact record. For example, a report on our Monthly Newsletter email, and how many people clicked it, and of those people, who are volunteers (based on Total Volunteer Hours field), who are donors (based on Total Gifts field), etc. Is there a way to do that within Salesforce or MCAE?

    @Kim White-Sawczynec

    I think that would work! I dismissed SF reporting as you wanted email stats, but using the campaign member status gets around that. I don't use Salesforce reports a whole lot but I believe this approach will get you what you're looking for.

    I just created a test report using an email campaign I sent last month, and it has produced a list of all campaign members whose status is 'clicked'. Should be easy enough for you to add the volunteer and donor fields to the filters.

Hello everyone,

In cases we email our customer base with the CTA to signup a form with their information, we often do not want to overwrite the legally sufficient customer data such as company name. How can we stop sync or update for specific forms? We do not want to create different custom fields for already existing fields such as first name, address and company for example, that makes the export files too big.

What could be a good solution? Using microsoft forms does not capture the activity.

Are there any settings per form what could be used?

    In your MCAE Field sync settings, you have the option of always using Salesforce-defined values. This gives you the power of choosing which fields you are OK with the visitor populating & overwriting and which ones you don't. This is done Pardot Business Unit-Wide though.

    If you really need form-specific control, your only option really is to create custom fields and decide when to copy values over. You could also try to hack together a solution with having a value on the Prospect that identifies it has "legally sufficient data" and then have decisions in MCAE that look at that value and then take different action.

    Progressive profiling could be another option, where you don't even show these good fields for known prospects (assuming their browser visit has them identified). Not a fool-proof option, but given they are (usually) visiting the form from an email it should cover you in most cases.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to check if anyone has come across bot clicks or spam filter clicks in Account Engagement (Pardot).

In our org, we are noticing clicks happening immediately after sending emails, and it appears these might be generated by bots or spam/security filters rather than actual prospects.

The issue is that these clicks are impacting prospect scores and also triggering automations unexpectedly.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? If yes, could you please share how you handled or minimized this behavior?

Any suggestions or best practices would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
