We have made the connection between Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud and we want to send SMS to contacts.

Do I have to do some configuration in sales to be able to send them SMS?

Thanks!

    Hello @Florencia Sandler,

    Contacts are added to the MobileConnect when they are subscribed to a keyword. Make sure the Opt-out and Opt-in keywords are set up (note that if you use from name in MobileConnect, the STOP keyword may not work, requiring a custom opt-out process).

    Once the configuration is complete, you can create SMS messages and proceed with sending for example using journey builder and subscribe contacts to the keyword at the send out time (make sure you have their consent to do so if it is a promotional SMS).

    If you need to trigger SMS from Sales Cloud, consider using campaigns and Journey Builder with salesforce entry source which allows you inject contacts in the journey once they added to campaign.

Does anyone know if there is a way to read Salesforce Lead/Contact mappings within the SFMC profile center with an API call? I'm able to pull all of the profile attributes by describing the subscriber object, however the mapping to Salesforce is not part of the ExtendedProperties data set. Is this something available in REST? The use case is for a custom profile center. #Marketing Cloud #AskAnMCExpert

    Use enterprise attribute joining subscribers data view to get the profile attributes.

    If you want to serialise the profile attributes use contact api .

#AskAnMCExpert AMPscript question: I'm trying to do a data extension insert and then immediately retrieve the CustomObjecKey from that row. If I try to do that within the same page, it returns the following error:

{"message":"Failed to convert parameter value from a Guid to a String.","description":"System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a Guid to a String. - from Jint --> \r\n\r\n --- inner exception 1---\r\n\r\nSystem.InvalidCastException: Object must implement IConvertible. - from mscorlib\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n"}

My current workaround is to redirect to another page to do the lookup. Is there a way to retrieve the CustomObjectKey of an inserted row after execution on the same page?

Hi there,

Does anyone have really cool examples of using Cloudpages that you wouldn't mind sharing? I am trying to see how interactive these pages can be and how much of the HTML5 elements can these have.

    Hi Jordan, I am looking for visuals not code necessarily as I am helping some departments in my company to consider the possibilities of using CP. They have some ideas in mind and it looks very much like cool HTML5 so given my experience with very static looking CP, I was hoping someone would share some of their best pages to get an idea of the possibilities.
