I feel like this is a really dumb question and I should know this, but I'm studying for the UX Designer exam and am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I need help clarifying something that I've gotten mixed up in my head. I'm trying to understand the difference between clicking New in Lightning App Builder (defined as a "point and click tool that makes it easy to create custom pages for SF mobile apps and Lightning Experience") and clicking Create New Lightning App in App Manager.  The names imply they're both for creating new Lightning Apps, right?  I know I'm probably missing something simple or overthinking it, but after going through all of the Trailhead material, I've gotten myself totally confused trying to understand the difference and why/when you would use one over the other.  Am I understanding correctly that Lightning App Builder lets you build pages that can then be pulled into a collection in App Manager?  Or is there a better way to describe it and how they interact?

It's not a dumb question, and it's something that confused me a lot at first.  App Manager is where you go to update any apps you build within Salesforce.  Lightning App Builder is where you go to create and update lightning pages like a customized record detail lightning page or a home page or an app page.

Hey guys! I'm taking the UX Designer certification soon. The only thing I could find was the 128 sample exam questions that were the same across all websites. However, from the first few questions, I could tell that some of the answers were wrong so it's hard to trust the rest of the guide. Would there be any other material I could use?

Thanks, I have about 1 more hour to go for the 8000 point Strategy Designer training. I noticed there are new topics in the Strategy Designer exam prep, one was Flow Basics, which is also in UX Designer training. I have about 29 hours of studying for the new topics under the Strategy Designer exam prep. More to go! I was surprised some of this was not int the Strategy Design training path. Thanks for this information.

I passed today! On the first try!!  Thank you to this community for helping answer questions and providing guidance along the way!  I won't lie - it was HARD and I did better on some sections than I expected, and worse on one section that I thought I knew really well.  Some questions covered content I felt like wasn't stressed enough in the Trailhead modules, practice questions, and exam guide... but I guess I learned the concepts and material enough to think through the scenarios.  Now to keep deepening my knowledge and focus on finding a new career opportunity where I can scratch my creative itch and feel like I'm making a difference!

To me, it always seems like the exam is a bit different that they actual training in most cases. Any suggestions for preparing?

Hello everyone!

I have extensive background in UX but not a lot in Salesforce. I failed the exam the first time in part because I scored low in Declarative Design and Salesforce Lightning Design System. Any tips on how I could get more hands exposure/experience in those areas? I was also wondering if anyone knew where to go to better understand the Salesforce questions themselves? This is my first cert and I've done all the trailhead modules and challenges and the questions were never that tricky.

Thanks everyone!

I have the same situation. Did you complete all the modules in the Salesforce UX designer path before you took the exam? I have done some of the Lightening Design training, aside from this to get a job after taking the exam, they want 2 years experience on the platform I am finding.

I'd love to hear how others are studying for it.

I have been doing some of the modules. I just finished the Strategy Designer path and it seems there is a preparation path for the exam. It says I need to take 29 hours to prepare for the exam studying topics that were not introduced in the Trailblazer Strategy Designer class. They seem relative but off topic of what I anticipated, also where do we find work? It seems most jobs require you to have Salesforce platform experience in addition. What Mauricio's link points to is additional studying for the exam aside from the course for Strategy designer which is different than the Salesforce UX Design path. I am at 29 hours for some of the Strategy design prep which was included in the original Strategy Design modules, so I have about 1/4 complete and another 29 hours of new modules to prepare that I did not see in the Strategy Design path Trailblazer training. This is lots more than I anticipated and looking more like 80 hours of training it seems, then $200 for the exam.
