Anyone migrated a live WhatsApp number into a Unified Messaging WABA with existing MCE journeys running? Can you actually edit the App Channel on a WhatsApp activity in a paused journey? Docs imply yes, our testing says no.

What date will the Release Matrix for Winter 27 be available?

Our marketing team has been historically creating a new lead for each and every time a person "raises their hand" for a specific product -- like if they filled out a form online or attended a webinar or visited a both, etc. This has resulted in duplicate leads. We are working on correcting this, doing some de-duplication efforts, and making use of campaigns and campaign members to record what marketing interactions a person engaged with. This works but the sticking point is how do we track product interest

-- for example prospect was interested in Product A in January and Product B in July. Could be a current customer or someone we've never done business with before.

My gut reaction is that we use opportunities for this -- every interest in a product is it's own opportunity record that they can work through all the stages -- however sometimes the sales person, account manager, BDR, or Solution Engineer finds out quickly that they are not actually qualified for that product and DQ the "lead" -- if we use opportunities like I was thinking -- we'd have a ton of "garbage" opportunities.

We are migrating from Marketing Cloud Engagment (fka Exact-Target) TO Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (fka Pardot) -- so we are using this as an opportunity to clean house and fix processes

Thoughts/Ideas on how to handle this?

Is it possible in SFMC Account Engagement (old Exact Target), is there a way to dynamically add CC to a send? We're trying to send an email to our insured and CC their broker and underwriter on the email.

TIA

Hi Heather - one quick naming check first, because it changes the answer: Account Engagement is Pardot, while the old ExactTarget is now Marketing Cloud Engagement (SFMC) - they're two separate products. Assuming you're in Account Engagement (Pardot):

There's no native CC/BCC in Account Engagement. Pardot sends individual 1:1 emails to prospects, so you can't CC a broker or underwriter onto the insured's email - every recipient gets their own personalized copy, not a CC on someone else's send.

For your use case (email the insured and loop in their specific broker and underwriter), the clean pattern is to drive it from Salesforce core rather than the marketing tool:

    - A record-triggered Flow (or a classic Email Alert) can send the email and add CC recipients - both support CC.

    - Populate the CC dynamically from fields, e.g. a Broker Email and Underwriter Email on the policy or account record, so each insured's email automatically CCs their own broker and underwriter.

That gives you a true, dynamic CC on a single email, which Pardot can't do on its own.

If the broker/underwriter only need to be aware (not literally CC'd), you could instead add them as prospects/recipients so they get their own copy - but that's separate emails with personalization aimed at them, not a real CC, so for your scenario I'd go the Flow or Email Alert route.

(And if it turns out you're actually in Marketing Cloud Engagement/SFMC, same story - no simple CC on a standard send - but the core Flow approach still gives you the cleanest true CC.)

    Hope that helps!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working as a Business Analyst in a Salesforce environment and have been working with Marketing Cloud Engagement (SFMC) for around one year.

My current hands-on experience includes:

  •  Data Extensions
  •  Email Studio
  •  Automation Studio
  •  Journey Builder
  •  SFMC processes and configuration
  •  Salesforce CRM and SFMC-related activities

I was planning to pursue the

Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant

certification because it aligns well with my current experience.

However, with the introduction and growing adoption of

Marketing Cloud Next

, I’m wondering whether it is still a good career decision to invest time in the Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant certification in 2026.

My concern is not whether Marketing Cloud Engagement is still being used. My concern is:

If Marketing Cloud Next is Salesforce's newer strategic direction, will the Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant certification continue to have good value in the job market over the next few years?

For someone with approximately one year of hands-on Marketing Cloud Engagement experience, would you recommend:

Option 1: Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant → Marketing Cloud Engagement Developer → Data 360 → Marketing Cloud Next

Option 2: Focus directly on Data 360 + Marketing Cloud Next

Option 3: Another certification/path that would be better for long-term career growth?

I would especially appreciate advice from people who are currently working with Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Next, or both, and from recruiters/hiring managers.

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

Hi Ajith - with a year of hands-on SFMC (Data Extensions, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder), I'd get the Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant cert now, and treat Marketing Cloud Next as your next layer rather than an either/or. The reasoning:

Engagement isn't going anywhere soon. The SFMC installed base is huge and enterprise migrations take years, so those skills stay in demand well beyond 2026. The Engagement Consultant cert also maps almost exactly to what you already do, which makes it the lowest-risk, highest-alignment credential for you right now - and it's still the MC cert most job postings actually ask for.

That said, Marketing Cloud Next is clearly the strategic direction. It's built natively on the Salesforce core platform and Data Cloud (Flow-based, with segmentation and journeys running on Data Cloud), which is a real architectural shift from classic SFMC. The good news for you: the marketing strategy layer - segmentation, journeys, personalization, deliverability - carries straight over; mainly the tooling changes. And your existing CRM knowledge is a head start, since Next lives on the core platform.

    My suggested 2026 path:

    1. Get Marketing Cloud Engagement Consultant now - it validates your current experience and is immediately marketable.

    2. In parallel, build Data Cloud fluency (the Data Cloud Consultant credential is a strong companion) and get hands-on with Marketing Cloud Growth, which is the Core-based product on the Next architecture, as it matures.

    3. Keep leaning on your BA skills - the durable asset is 'a BA who deeply understands marketing and data', and the platform certs are how you evidence it.

One practical note: the certification landscape around Next is still maturing, while Engagement Consultant is well-established and widely recognized today. That's another reason to lock in Engagement now and grow into Next, rather than wait.

It's not a wasted investment either way - you're building the domain expertise, and the platform is just the vehicle. Good luck!
