Does Agentforce Analytics in Agentforce Studio require a Data Cloud license

Adding the practical licensing picture to S N's answer, since the real question here is usually: do we have to buy Data Cloud separately? 

1. Data Cloud is required. Agentforce Analytics is built on Data Cloud, your agents' interaction/activity data is captured into Data Cloud objects and the dashboards read from there. So Data Cloud has to be provisioned and turned on (this matches S N). 

2. But you generally do not buy it as a separate standalone SKU just for this. Data Cloud is a foundational dependency of Agentforce and gets provisioned as part of enabling Agentforce, every Agentforce org comes with a Data Cloud entitlement, and the Agentforce setup flow includes a step to turn Data Cloud on. So with standard Agentforce licenses you can use Agentforce Analytics, you just have to make sure Data Cloud is actually enabled and configured, not left off. 

3. The thing to watch is consumption, not the license. Data Cloud is consumption-based (credits for data processing/storage), and Agentforce activity plus analytics consume those credits. So for budgeting the real question is not do we need a Data Cloud license, it is do we have enough Data Cloud credit entitlement for our agent volume. Worth confirming your included credit allotment with your Account Executive. 

4. Permissions: enable Data Cloud, then assign users the Data Cloud permission set(s) and give admins/analysts access to the analytics. Follow the doc S N linked for the exact permission-set names, since those shift release to release. 

Net: no separate Data Cloud purchase needed for the analytics itself, it rides on the Data Cloud that comes with Agentforce, but do (a) confirm Data Cloud is enabled and (b) check your credit entitlement for your expected volume.
