I'm using Pipeline Inspection in sandbox, the "Moved In" and "Moved Out" categories don't update when I change a close date. For example, if I push out the close date past the filtered close date, a red arrow appears on the close date but the "Moved Out" field doesn't update.

Pipeline Inspection tracks opportunities that move in or out of a filtered date range based on close date changes. The red arrow indicator you're seeing suggests the system detects the change, but the "Moved Out" category isn't updating accordingly.
Likely Causes & Solutions
1. Cache/Refresh Issue
Pipeline Inspection data may not update in real-time. Try:
- Manually refreshing the Pipeline Inspection view
- Logging out and back in to force a data refresh
- Clearing browser cache if the issue persists
2. Sandbox-Specific Behavior
Since you mentioned this is in a sandbox environment:
- Sandbox data may have synchronization delays
- The Pipeline Inspection calculation might run on a scheduled basis rather than real-time
- Check if there's a scheduled job that updates Pipeline Inspection metrics
3. Date Filter Configuration
Verify your Pipeline Inspection setup:
- Confirm the filtered close date range is correctly configured
- Ensure the new close date you're setting is actually outside the filtered range
- Check if there are any additional filters that might be preventing the update
4. Metadata Index Refresh
- There may be an underlying index or cache that needs updating
- Look for a refresh button or similar control in Pipeline Inspection
Recommended Actions
- Document the specific scenario: Note the exact close date change (from → to) and the filtered date range
- Test in production: Verify if this is sandbox-specific or affects production too
- Create a support case: Since this appears to be a potential bug, log a case with:
- Screenshots showing the red arrow but no "Moved Out" update
- Specific close date values and filter settings
- Sandbox org ID and Pipeline Inspection configuration
Workaround
If you need immediate visibility, consider:
- Creating a custom report on Opportunities with close date change tracking
- Using Salesforce's standard opportunity history tracking as a temporary alternative
