Hello Community, I created a conga Admin button for administrators to access the template builder and a user button. I don't know what settings to use in the button to remove access to the template builder for users. Can you help me?

    Hi @Charlotte GODET DAILL

To remove user access to the Template Builder, you must create two separate Conga Composer buttons: one for administrators with full access and another for standard users that operates in "background mode". Standard user profiles must then be restricted from the Templates tab.

    1. Create a user-facing button with background mode

This button bypasses the Conga Composer interface and prevents users from accessing the Template Builder.

    1. Create a standard Conga Composer solution record for your user button.
    2. Add the &DS7=3 parameter to the URL to enable background mode. In this mode, the button will run the solution automatically without displaying the Conga UI.
    3. Add this button to the page layout for standard user profiles.

    2. Create an admin-only button for the Template Builder

This button will allow administrators to access the Template Builder to create and edit templates.

    1. Create another standard Conga Composer solution record for your admin button.
    2. Do not include the &DS7=3 parameter. This button will open the full Conga Composer interface, including the Tools & Settings menu with the Template Builder option.
    3. Add this button to the page layout for administrator profiles.

    3. Restrict standard user profiles from the Templates tab

To ensure users cannot access the Template Builder by other means, you should restrict their access to the Conga Templates tab itself.

    1. In Salesforce Setup, navigate to Permission Sets.
    2. Select the Composer_User permission set (or create a custom one).
    3. Click Object Settings.
    4. Find and open the Conga Templates object.
    5. Click Edit and ensure all permissions (Read, Create, Edit, Delete) are disabled for the object. This will hide the Templates tab from users with this permission set.

    4. Assign permission sets

After creating the buttons and configuring permissions, assign the correct permission sets to your users.

    • Assign the Composer_Administrator permission set to administrators.
    • Assign the Composer_User permission set to standard users.
