I am creating a workflow and I want to send a message often that will have a link, the link changes but the link changes. Can I do this with the form and variables?
Example:
In the form one field is "any documentation about this? please add a link" and the user of the workflow will insert the relevant link to documentation.
The next step of the workflow is 'Send a message to a channel' and I can add the variable to the text but it will past the whole hyper link (which is usually long) and I wanted it to be 'For more details check the available documentation' where the 'available documentation words are a link to the link inserted in the field when filling the form.
I am pretty sure this is a common request but can't find it, or maybe I am not understanding it well. Thanks!
Hey Jacob!! So sorry, once you said it I went to my email to email them and then forgot to respond here. Thanks a lot for the follow up. I have emailed them and just for the record here in the community questions:
- The rich_text is expected to not be able to combine with bullet points as we can't apply mrkdwn right before a rich_text input.
- My ultimate goal of hyperlinking text with a variable isn't possible in the standard Workflow Builder. I'd need a developer to help me create a Custom Function that would handle this for me https://api.slack.com/automation/functions/custom
