We are currently building an integration for Salesforce Marketing Cloud to help Marketing Cloud users create accurate and consistent tracking links.
Our SaaS product, Uplifter, creates and stores a taxonomy for campaign links, which means values like campaign name, links source and medium are consistent across an entire organization. When these values are clean and consistent it means that analysts have a much easier time reporting on results and marketing budgets are not wasted.
We're aware of the Web Analytics Connector in "Parameter manager" and it seems like a great way to make sure that tracking links are always included in emails. We've seen that you can dynamically change this using personalisation strings, template attributes or using ampscript to look up a data extension.
Is there a way to extend the Marketing Cloud interface for campaign or email templates so that Marketing cloud users could select (rather than enter) a predefined value, that would be synced from our product? All the options I have seen so far only enable the user to enter into a text box, which:
- requires the user to have prior knowledge of the taxonomy and what should be in the box
- removes any control over what the user can enter into the box leading to inconsistent values being included
We're reaching out to the community to gather insights on the possibility of improving the Marketing Cloud experience for managing tracking parameters. We would greatly appreciate any guidance, experiences, or recommendations related to achieving this objective.
