Hi! I'm hoping to implement a process that allows us to track our SQL/MQL conversion rate via leads or maybe contacts. At the moment, we use Account Engagement (Pardot) to track all of our prospects (MQLs). They are not currently tracked in Salesforce as contacts or leads. Our SQL has contacts/accounts currently. Skipped the lead step.

We want to start fresh with our data points 2024. I need help thinking through the best way to implement this utilizing Pardot and Leads.

This is a temporary process for conversion:

  • Prospect in Pardot hits a certain grade/score and will be assigned a user; therefore lead is created.
  • The sales team will be assigned a lead and will nurture prospects.

Things I've considered:

  1. Create a Status field on the lead with values MQL, SQL, SAL(Converted), and turn on field history tracking. And sync all Pardot prospects over to Salesforce.
  2. Then, the Sales team will change the status and convert the lead or automation to change the status upon conversion

Thanks in advance for any solutions here.

    I like your idea.

    Keep it simple.

MQL = Create Lead from Pardot Prospect (Marketing can modulate the rules, score thresholds, etc so it is all in their hands)

SQL = Lead reviewed, ideally contacted, and qualified or disqualified.

I would personally call a SQL when the Lead is Converted (Qualified=Converted another way to be said)
