Hi everyone, I'm Seán Doyle, Lead at the World Economic Forum's Centre for Cybersecurity in Geneva, Switzerland. I've loved every minute of my work in cybersecurity but I didn't come to cyber from a traditional computer science background and I want you all to know that skills from outside tech can give you a good entry point into cyber.

A winding route into the field shouldn't be seen as an obstacle - I've worked at everything from waiting tables to working with race horses and eventually came into cyber via journalism and corporate investigations.

Learn how the cybersecurity industry benefits from hiring people with various backgrounds and skill sets with Melonia da Gama, Director of Marketing at Fortinet’s NSE Training Institute, and Lynn Simons, Senior Director of Security Awareness and Engagement at Salesforce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lssBsGFa_SU.

We'd love to hear from our Trailblazers with unique backgrounds about what steps you have taken to become more #SecuritySavvy! "

Thank you for this very encouraging message! I'm currently working as a 7th grade Math Teacher; I have an undergraduate degree in History. 🤣🤣🤣 I have gained my ISC2 certification and I'm still learning in preparation for my first Cybersecurity role.
