Can anyone provide any advice/BTDTs on whether using Outbound Funds would add any useful functionality if the grant distributions don't go through any stages, don't have to be requested, and just need to be recorded onto already-entered Service Request/Service Delivery records? And then rolled up to the Grant, so we know how much of the money has been distributed. I'm thinking of using the Grants as Opportunities for this, which don't seem to be used in Outbound Funds...if anyone has already developed the solution for this, would be interested to learn what steps you took. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
The reason using opportunities to track money going out can be troublesome is if you also are using opportunities to track donations and other money coming in. This can cause reporting to be difficult as your totals could include both donations in and grants out. It's best to segment money coming in and money coming out into separate objects to make reporting and other items such as related list clearer.
