Is there any Grade book object existing or in the near term plans for the K-12 Kit? - Any guidance before i go and create a custom object based on the Ed-Fi standard?

@Kushi Schusterman that is a valid point.  I was just thinking, if the school organization had already invested money into an SIS (for example, my school district uses Skyward), that may a way to utilize what they already have.  It would be much better, though, to have one built into Salesforce!  I believe it would make it easier to organize the data into reports.
