Hi! I was curious based on the current state Lightning Sync (which is sunset for new customers) or the newly favored Einstein Activity Capture, the current state of how Office 365 Outlook handles duplicate management in Events and Contacts? I remember from the days from Salesforce for Outlook that letting Outlook win a conflict ended up creating duplicate data. Is letting Exchange win a conflict any better? #Outlook  #Einstein Activity Capture #Lightning Sync

Hi Michael, from my experience there isn't a strong duplicate management capability built within Einstein Activity Capture, so there does seem to be a theme where admins will end up with some duplicate contacts for reasons unknown. What can help with this is using some of the advanced sync features to specify which contacts should and should not be synced. There's a pretty indepth thread here that may be helpful on this topic.

It won't let me link to it directly, but if you go to the Outlook Integration chatter group and search the feed for Duplicate. There's a post by Josh Jacobson with a lot of comments and discussion on this topic specifically
