Blog Post: A Quick Guide to Getting Started with Dynamic Actions in Salesforce

With Winter '21 release of Salesforce, you now have 'Dynamic Actions' available in your arsenal. With Dynamic Actions, you can have granular control on which actions/buttons should be visible on a record detail page and under what condition.

For example, on a record detail page, you have various standard and custom buttons - like 'Edit', 'Delete', 'Clone' etc. Before Winter '21 release you had limited control on which buttons will be visible to the users. But now, with Winter '21 release, you can attach a filter condition to each button to control whether the button should be visible to the user or not. And this filter condition can be based on the value of the record field, the device or even user's profile and permissions

With Dynamic Forms earlier and now Dynamic Actions, Salesforce seems to be moving away from the concept of the traditional Page Layouts. So, wouldn't now be an appropriate time to get your feet wet with Dynamic Actions and Dynamic forms.
