We have a custom field on our Work Order titles 'Estimated Start Date/Time' where we enter the date and time of the appointment for that Work Order. We want to make this field REQUIRED, but wen we do this, Maintenance Plan Work Orders stop being automatically produced because that requirement on that field is no longer being met.
What would be the best recommendation to enable that mandatory field while also allowing for the creation of Maintenance Plans?
Hi @Kurt Johansen The best way is to use record type and page layout and make the field required in layout for work order and not for maintenance plan work order
And if anyone tried to create a work order record other than standard layout then use validation rule by checking record type= work order and estimated date time isn't null
