Not able to add resource or value to flow

In "create a flow" of the Add Business Logic to a Travel Approval App, it's asking that I build a flow and include paramaters that I don't have populating. I.e. resource that should have a value of "$Record>Destination State" and for value it should be TX...i don't have either of those. Can someone advise? I didn't have earlier tasks that established those things
