I cannot figure out how to get "new task" to show on everyone's profile for the lead object. Everyone has the activity area, and within that area, everyone has "email" but not everyone has "new task". They can add a new tasks to a lead from the task object so I know they have permission for it. Does anyone know where I would go to add it to their layout? I don't even see that we have multiple layouts options for the lead so I'm really confused. Thanks.

Go to object manager-> Lead -> Page Layouts. Edit the page layout : Make sure there is 'New Task' button added on 'Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions' section. Save the layout and check if users can now able to see 'New Task' option on Activity tab in lightning page.
