I am REALLY struggling with the concept of Record types and why I should bother with it instead of just modifying page layouts and assigning to profiles, etc. Can anyone point me to some good resources that might explain it better?  I haven't found anything yet that has provided clarity for me. If it matters I'm in SF classic.
