What real-world Salesforce projects should a fresher build in a Developer Org to demonstrate practical knowledge of objects, relationships, flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards, and security in technical interviews?
Hi @Sai Pavani Yamsani Good question! For freshers, I recommend building 2–3 real-world Salesforce projects
instead of focusing only on Trailhead badges.
1. Recommended Salesforce Projects
- Student Management System: Manage students, courses, admissions, and fees using custom objects and relationships.
- Recruitment Management System: Manage job openings, candidates, interviews, and hiring status using Flows and Validation Rules.
- Customer Support System: Manage customer cases, case assignments, escalations, and support dashboards.
2. Important Skills to Practice
- Objects & Relationships: Lookup and Master-Detail.
- Flows: Automate business processes.
- Validation Rules: Prevent incorrect data entry.
- Reports & Dashboards: Track business performance.
- Security: OWD, Profiles, Permission Sets, and Sharing Rules.
3. Official Salesforce Learning Resources
- Data Modeling
- Flow Builder
- Validation Rules
- Reports & Dashboards
- Data Security
- Salesforce Developer Edition
Build one complete project in your Developer Org, document your work, and add it to your resume with screenshots and a GitHub link.
Interview Tip: Be ready to explain what you built, why you selected each Salesforce feature, and how you handled real business requirements.
Remember, practical project experience matters more than simply completing badges.
Hope this helps!
