#Desktop Integration3 debatiendo

I am working in the combination of two Salesforce Orgs into one larger org. I need to transfer the Libraries, with content included, to the new org.

Salesforce only allows me to download 10 files (PDF, PowerPoints, Zips, WordDocs, etc) at a time, and I have thousands.

This is not to be confused with Notes & Attachments.

    Figured this out.

I still had to manually extract all of the files from salesforce that i wished to transfer. This took too much time and still haven't found an answer for that, but when that was done, I followed the instructions from the article copied below.

(Potintial Salesforce Labs App that will extract content (I haven't used): https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N30000003Iz0jEAC

Followed the article from salesforce that states:

    1. Create a CSV file with the following fields.

      1. Title - file name.
      2. Description - (optional) file or link description.

        1. NOTE If there are commas in the description, use double quotes around the text.
      3. VersionData - complete file path on your local drive (for uploading documents only.

        1. NOTE Files are converted to base64 encoding on upload. This action adds approximately 30% to the file size. ( this will cause batch load errors on files over 5MB)
      4. PathOnClient - complete file path on your local drive (for uploading documents only).
      5. ContentUrl - URL (for uploading links only).
      6. OwnerId - (optional) file owner, defaults to the user uploading the file.
      7. FirstPublishLocationId - library ID.
      8. RecordTypeId - record type ID.

For some strange reason, I could not pull correct file paths on my mac, and was able to do this using the simple and amazing "Copy Path" tool on my PC.

So once all my files were in a folder on my desktop, I used the copy path and pasted that onto an excel sheet, which would appear something like this, "Desktop>ContentFolder>Title". I then engaged in data alteration to trim down the File Path to just a title. (I used the excel command that removes a certain number of characters from the beginning of the sentence, and since the file path was identical up until the title, I could easily remove the front section of the file path.

The PathOnClient and the VersionData will be the same, meaning two cloumns with identical data.

The FirstPublishLocationID was given by logging into Salesforce Classic Version and navigating to the Library section. Going to the libraries from within Saleforce Lightning will not yield the same results, so it MUST BE DONE IN LIGHTNING.

I didn't use a RecordTypeID and it loaded in fine.

This may not be the most effcient way, but when looking at the other answers in the community, they never fully explained this stressful process, so I hope this helps anyone!

I want the emails to be associated to the contacts they were sent to and/or from.

If you want to import all existing emails from a PST file, the right method depends on where you want those emails to be imported. It is important for a large mailbox to keep the folder hierarchy, attachments and message properties rather than exporting individual emails.

In case the destination requires a different email format, then you may try

    DataVare PST Converter

for bulk PST conversion. It can process single PST or multiple PST files in a folder and export the mailbox data to MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, NSF, TGZ, HTML, MHTML, PDF and IMAP file formats. Conversion preserves folder and subfolder hierarchy, email properties and attachments.

For a complete mailbox, batch processing is useful because all selected PST data can be handled together. The Date Range filter can also be left unused when the intention is to process the entire PST rather than a specific period.

Before importing the complete mailbox, test a sample PST and verify the resulting folder structure and attachments.

@Bharat: Before any Apex callout can call an external site, that site must be registered in the Remote Site Settings page, or the callout fails. Salesforce prevents calls to unauthorised network addresses.

To add a remote site setting:

From Setup, enter Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Remote Site Settings

    .

    • Click New Remote Site.
    • Enter a descriptive term for the Remote Site Name.
    • Enter the URL for the remote site.
    • Optionally, enter a description of the site.
    • Click Save.

Hi all,

I am having an issue with Mailchimp-Salesforce contacts sync.

Recently I have archived many contacts in Mailchimp, however I noticed that they are inserted into Mailchimp again (unarchived) - 'Added via Mailchimp for Salesforce'.

The settings I have in SF:

- Allow Mailchimp to create Leads in Salesforce is turned off,

- Data Sync is tuned on,

- Member queries are not defined.

What is the reason of that behaviour? I want Mailchimp to update contacts' status to 'Archived' in Salesforce and SF to not override this information.

Has anyone who implemented Lightning Sync experienced a new 'Birthdays' calendar which shows up in Outlook after the sync? Our users now see a Birthdays calendar, which when deleted immediately reappears upon sync. Upon reading some similar issues, the main suggestion is to edit the field mappings in the lightning sync configuration to not include the birthdate field, however, I have tried this and am still experiencing the issue.

I'm looking for anyway to prevent this calendar from syncing and showing up any longer as we do not want this enabled, primarily, because it creates automatic reminders for all these birthday events...when you have a lot of contact data, this is frustrating to have reminders everyday!

HI There,  we use Outlook for lightning;  my org has the need to log emails to two different records.  For example if a customer sends an email and references two different orders in the one email, our customer service team wants to log the email on two different orders.  When they try to do this they are encountering a message that displays as " You've logged this email.  If you change where it's logged click save."   If they proceed and click save the previously logged email, which is displayed in the activities section on the record, is removed from the first order it was logged against and only is displayed on the second order's activity feed.   I don't think this always used to happen, regardless I am looking for an efficient work around and am wondering if anyone has any ideas or is aware that there may be a fix for this in upcoming releases.

Hi Trailblazer,

Has anyone got experience with Salesforce and Constant Contact apps two-way synchronization? This is for volunteering work for an NPO. Are there any settings on either apps that can link these two together? I have done some research online but could not find any information that mentions settings to sync these two apps. The only way to synchronize these two apps that I found online is to use a third-party partner app such as Automate.io

, SyncApp, or Piesync.

I would be more interested to learn about the settings on Constant Contact or Salesforce before implementing the partner app.

Thank you for your expertise and help!

Salesforce and Constant Contact don’t have out-of-the-box settings for two-way synchronization, so typically you would need a third-party integration tool. There are a few options like Automate.io, SyncApp, and PieSync that can handle bi-directional sync and field mapping between the two systems. If you’re looking for a no-code solution, tools like Skyvia can help automate the sync process, saving time and reducing manual work. You can find more information here.
