My basic question is there an easier way to do a mass upload (and update) of Products to a Price Book?  There are several steps involved, sometimes Dataloader will not load a CSV file, there are differences between the new Dataloader and old Dataloader, etc. and I'm thinking of making a Flow to help streamline Product Upload/Update, but wanted to ask and hear what people have done.

Background is: doing a Product upload for a Custom Price Book, only using one currency, and planning on doing multiple Price Books in the future.  Potentially, depending on needs might do Price Books for large vs small customers, regions, inside vs outside sales, etc. BUT it does get time consuming and a little confusing.  I have to upload Products.  Then update Products to associate with the Standard Price Book (which is required) and get the ID's, then update Products with a custom Price Book and Price Book entry.  Need to keep the CSV files and get the ID's (and remember to get Price Book Entry ID's, not just the PriceBook2 and the Product2 ID, etc., etc.).

Seems like a lot of steps and tracking, especially for hundreds of Products and maybe could be simplified by a Flow?  Let me know what you think or have done in the past.  Thanks!

If you're only at 100s I think a flow could def make this easier. However, SoP would be to use a single PB and leverage visibility and PRs to get the pricing you want.
