I've a dataset colour coded by year (most recent year in a dark green, the year before in a pale grey). This works ok for graphs, but the light grey becomes unreadable when used for numbers.

I want to use a darker grey for numbers than for the graph to make them readable. My thinking is that I have to create a dummy variable for the year, as I'm already using the date for colouring the graph.

twbx file with dummy data attached.

Thank you for taking the time :-) It seems the only change is to the original colour. What I need is a change to the grey numbers, but not the grey colour in the graph, hence the need for a variable as otherwise they change to the same colour.

I think I've worked it out myself though by creating a Custom Date; detail = Years. Add this to the colour mark. Change to discreet instead of continuous.
