Hello dear community,

I've set up a very simple approval process and it's not working.  This is the first time I'm trying this in a new org at a new company so I'm wondering if approvals still work in a Sandbox.

When a Lead is created and the Last Name is not equal to null (i.e. every Lead), an approval request should be sent to me.  The email is irrelevant - I want to use the approval functionality from directly within Salesforce (approval history, alerts, etc) - but if this is required, please also let me know how to enable this.

There's a lot of Q&A about approvals, but mostly related to the email alert, which I'm not interested in.

Thanks, as always, in advance

@Hugh Murfitt now i get whats happening. Conceptually.. once an approval process is set for an object.. (like Opportunity).. to trigger that approval process.. we need an action from user to initiate the approval process. For instance.. clicking the submit for approval button.

for lead record.. if you are not able to see that button in the lead page layout and thus not available on the record to click..

then one approach would be to have a flow.. which can invoke the lead approval process.. below link has details of the same
