I have 3 fields - Contact Name (mandatory field), checkbox "Contact same as patient" and Patient Name. I am trying to auto populate Patient Name with Contact Name, when "Contact same as patient" checkbox is selected.
I created a validation rule for Patient Name - AND(
ISCHANGED( Contact_same_as_Patient__c ),
NOT( Patient_Name__c <> Name )
)
But it isn't working. I tried using the same rule for the checkbox field too and that doesn't work either.
Can someone please guide me ?

AND(
Contact_same_as_Patient__c,
NOT(ISBLANK(Patient_Name__c))
)
Make sure api_names i have copy pasted it
