For impact reporting I'd like to be able to sort my contacts in a report for whether they're mothers and if they have dependents.  What's the best way to do this?

Initially I thought I could just list out the household members under the account but I feel that would be cluttering my database with a lot of contacts that won't really be needed other than for a headcount process.

Thinking now maybe just a checkbox if they're a mother and a field listing out number of dependents over and under 18 would suffice. Key element will be whatever I choose I want to be able to create a report and filter on the field.  If I do do it like this - should it be on the contact page or the household page?  I'm assuming contact but want to verify.

Thank you for the help.

    Hi Stephanie,

I apologize, I may have initially misunderstood what you were trying to do. Reading it again, it looks like you are only concerned with whether a mother has a dependent and the number of and not in any other details regarding the dependents? If so I think your solution makes the most sense using a checkbox field and a picklist and use filters in the report.
