We have started accepting donations through Givelively, and when those are synced with salesforce, it looks like it will store the information about whether a donation is recurring or one time in the "Type" picklist field on the opportunity object.
I would like to utilize the recurring donations object since it seems like a great way to keep track of recurring donations, and especially to see how they relate to campaigns. However, when I try creating a recurring donation record, with a start date in the past,r that I can tie past donations to (in Sandbox), it automatically creates a bunch of opportunities and I wind up with duplicate donations (some created by the recurring donation, some that I imported through the NPSP data import wizard...
I'm also unsure of how to relate monthly donations through givelively to a recurring donation.
Has anyone else had experience with this (either givelively recurring donations or past donations that were bulk imported) and how did you handle it?
If you go to NPSP Settings and select the Recurring Donations tab and then Recurring Donations under that (confusing I know) there should be the ability to reduce toy Opportunity Forecast Months. This might meet your needs.
