We have an issue in NPSP whereby when we add a household account to an opportunity, when viewing a contact record within that household, on the related opportunity list, we are seeing all opportunities related not just to that contact but to all contacts within that household.

If we remove the related Account from the opportunity, the problem disappears . And if we create a custom lookup field on Opportunity to lookup Contact and use that instead of the built in npsp__Primary_Contact__c field, the issue also disappears.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this? We'd obviously rather use the npsp__Primary_Contact__c field but this seems to be giving us problems for unknown reasons.

    Hi @Dan Moore

It's a standard NPSP functionality as both contacts are in the same household and because of soft credits you're able to see all opportunities in the household irrespective of contact specific. https://powerofus.force.com/s/article/NPSP-Soft-Credits-Overview

    Here's an example:

    There are two contacts: A & B

    Case 1: A made 1 donation of $5 USD

    Case 2: B made 1 donation of $50 USD

Then in both cases above if you go to a contact record it will show 2 opportunities each where you'll find the below soft credits added to each contact:

Soft Credits Contact A: $50 USD

Soft Credits Contact B: $5 USD

    Hope it helps
