Can someone help shed light on this situation for me? I am still cleaning data and experimenting with NPSP data imports in small batches before uploading our entire contact list into Saleforce.
I have successfully imported a small batch of students and parents (we are a gap year Bible College) and then after doing research on Campaigns, and getting some updated contact information, I uploaded the SAME batch of students/parents with new information. I had assumed the contacts would be recognized and either updated/combined, or I would be asked about what pieces to combine.
Instead, the dry run showed no errors, and I imported the batch. I received a few "errors" because the system noticed I was trying to update contacts I already have... but for others (for most) it created another contact, instead of combining information with the contact I already had with that name.
I think I already set up the matching rules, but maybe not correctly? I'll attach some screenshots to show you the errors I am seeing.
How can I fix this?
