I want to connect Salesforce Opportunities to Google Sheets. It tells me I need a REST API, saying I do not have one. I cannot find instructions to assist. Can anyone assist?

I am attempting to connect directly into Google Sheets using the Google connector. It works fine until it tells me I do not have a REST API installed. Can anyone tell me how to create a REST API?
