Hello Trailblazers,

Can I please get some help on setting up this email alert?

I want to send an email alert to relevant users when:

IF (No Closed Opportunity/Opportunities for that Account for 90 days)

THEN (Send Email Alert to remind Users)

Can someone guide me in the right direction on this? I tried searching for Accounts.Opportunity in Process Builder but cannot seem to find that reference.

Thanks,

Wilson

In the scenario you mentioned, if you create a new opp then it will have a future close date, thereby marking the account as active again. However, if you have long-running opportunities, the account may be marked as inactive even if you still have an active opportunity on it. It would be especially problematic if you have more than one active opportunity on the same account.

But if youre sure you want to go that route, it's still possible. You'd need to create a lookup field from account to opportunity, called Latest Opportunity. Then, set up a process on the opportunity object so that whenever a new opp is created, its ID would be copied to the latest opportunity field on the parent account. Then to get the latest opp close date, you'd use a formula field like:

    Latest_Opportunity__r.CloseDate

Lastly, by using a formula field instead of process builder to calculate the activity status (same formula I wrote a couple of comments ago) you're ensuring that your activity checkbox is always in sync. That's because formulas are calculated every time you look at them (like quantum physics).
