Edit related record and field on a custom object page

I am trying to clean up our account and layouts. We currently have some lookup relationship fields on a custom object but we want to start using the related record field on the page when it comes to the contact. We are currently saving our phone numbers under the "mobile" field in the contact. When I place the contact related record on the custom object is there a way I can edit the phone number field to display this phone number? Below is an example of what is currently happening.

    Hi Derek, 

     

    If you need to display Mobile field which is on the Contact object instead of Phone, then you need to modify the Page layout of the Action.

     

    To find which action to modify, go to the Lightning Page | Click on the related record component | Check the action mentioned under 'Update Action'.

     

    Then goto Contact Object | Buttons, Links and Actions | Search for the action of type 'Update a Record' | Click on the Action | Edit Layout | Replace the Phone with Mobile | Save.

     

    Note that you can only display the Contact object fields in this Related Record section and not the fields on Move object.
