I'm inserting a Validation Rule to prevent Lead conversion based on 'Lead Status' field - specifically Lead Status of "Qualified".
I am using this:
AND( IsConverted, NOT( TEXT( PRIORVALUE(Status) ) = "Qualified") )
However, when I test it out and change status from New, Working, Nurture, etc to Qualified, the rule is not firing and it's still allowing me to be in Qualified status.
Any ideas?

That validation rule should prevent users from converting Leads unless the Lead Status is "Qualified". So they shouldn't be able to move from New, Working, Nurture, etc to Closed - Converted, but the rule should still allow them to move from New, Working, Nurture, etc to Qualified.
Could you clarify what you'd like to actually prevent? What are your Lead Status values? Is your Qualified status actually the "converted" status? You'd have to tweak the formula if so.
