I'm trying to report on activities to get the following results:

We have two roles BDRs and AEs. We want to track the number of activities they are associated with in the same report. The issue we run into is that a BDR and AE can both be attributed the same task so when I group based on a custom field that looks at the role the assigned to user and the role of a "Secondary User" the activity will only show up under one grouping. I would like the report to instead count the activity under both groupings effectively double counting the activity. In this case we want to double count the activity and show it both in the BDR grouping and AE group. Because these are lookup fields and not parent-child relationships it does not duplicate the activity like I might expect it to with Products and Opportunities.

The way to solve this would be to generate different reports one for each role that would count the number of activities and have a formula field that looks at both Assigned and Secondary user fields for the users I am looking for. However we could still have a case where two AEs get assigned to the activity and then I would run into the same problem.

What I am wondering is that is it possible to create two user groupings on an activity report and have it double count the activities into both groupings?

    Hi Matthew,

I can't think of a better way to show those roles in one report since the values are coming from 2 different fields. You really need to generate different reports in order to count the number of activities for both Assigned and Secondary user.

    Hope that helps.
