How to send direct messages from Salesforce to the Community?

Question

I've created a community with a button for Direct Messages. (Partner Central template, Salesfore in Lightning)

And have successfully sent a message to a internal user, from the community.

In the top right bell, the internal users receives a notification, but nothing happens when clicking on it. How that message could be answered?

And how could a internal user on Salesforce send a Direct Message to a Community member?

I do not think you can do that. In one of my projects we had to add internal users to community so that they can go there and exchange Direct Messages with other community users.

Hi there,   From my understanding, you would need to create an internal community and give the option to send a message from there to any user in the org, including customers in the other community.
